NSW: Jones denies ever speaking to prime minister about Flint =2

Mr Jones said: "The prime minister knows me and my listeners know me."

"I've been angry with the prime minister on air (and) if I have a point to make with
the prime minister, whether it's about the sugar industry, the diary industry or the National
Competition Council, my listeners know that I make that on air, and he knows whether I'm
angry or not.

"It is improper for me to then get on the phone afterwards and ventilate that anger
and (that would be) literally a waste of his (the prime minister's) time.

Mr Jones said he had never previously mentioned a fellow broadcaster on air.

"I regret that's been necessary today, and I don't really understand what motivated
Mr Laws to do what he's done," he said.
